Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision

A 17-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after a collision yesterday evening, Tuesday.

The collision happened at 4.52pm on Festival Hill, Congleton, at its junction with Bromley Road.

A white van towing a trailer turned right from Bromley Road into Festival Hill.

The motorcyclist was travelling along Bromley Road towards Congleton town centre, and was in collision with a Mitsubishi 4x4 vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured in the collision, and was taken to Macclesfield Hospital.

His condition this morning was described by police as “serious but stable.”

Police are keen to speak to the driver of the white van, and anyone else in the area at the time who may have seen the collision.

Anyone who can help is asked to ring PC Peter Benningwood at Crewe Specialist Investigation Unit’s road policing unit on 0845-458-0000.
