ONE lucky Alsager youngster will have a right royal day out next month at the town's carnival.
The Congleton Guardian has once again been asked to organise and judge the competition to find the Alsager Carnival Queen.
The girl who is chosen for the role will have a day to remember, leading the carnival procession through Alsager to Milton Gardens.
On her arrival at the park she will cut a ribbon to launch a packed afternoon of events, and will be crowned Alsager Carnival Queen 2008.
The carnival queen competition has become a popular feature of the annual community celebrations, and entries are again being sought from girls wishing to be the queen for the day.
To be in with a chance of being chosen send us a letter telling us why you deserve to be the carnival queen.
Girls can also be nominated by family members or friends, and please include a photograph of the girl being nominated with the letter.
Entries are invited from girls aged between seven and 16 from Alsager and the surrounding area.
This year's carnival is due to take place on Saturday June 21, and last year's celebrations raised £5,000 for local charities.
Last year's queen, Aimee Standring, travelled to Milton Gardens in a vintage Rolls Royce, and the 2008 queen is due to be crowned by the chairman of carnival organisers Alsager Round Table.
The deadline for entries is Friday May 30, and entries should be sent to Congleton Guardian, 9 Park Street, Congleton.
You can also email your entries to iross@guardiangrp.co.uk.
