KNYPERSLEY’S bowlers were hit for 110 in only 13 overs by a late order pairing on Saturday.

The 1st X1 were looking good against Audley before the number seven and nine batsmen came together.

They took the total from 118 for seven to 228, scoring at an average of eight runs an over.

One of those doing the damage was Audley’s professional Theron.

Knypersley’s bowlers had made an excellent start, reducing Audley to 29 for three and 56 for five.

However the home side rallied with stands of 62 and 110, and ended on 228 for seven off 58 overs.

Rob James took five wickets for 62 runs off 18 overs, and Knypersley professional Victor Mpitsang took two for 72 off 18 on his debut.

Knypersley replied with 116 for four off 35 overs, their innings reduced by 17 overs late on because of rain.

Jon Cumberbatch top scored with 42, and Ross Salmon ended unbeaten on 31.

Knypersley picked up only four points, being deducted one for a slow over rate.

Audley earned nine points, and the draw leaves Knypersley in sixth place in the table.

They travel to Little Stoke this Saturday.
