LUCKY Knypersley beat Little Stoke at the death on Saturday after a dismal batting display.
The Knypersley bowlers had given their batsmen an excellent target to aim at after dismissing the home side for only 124.
However the batsmen made very hard work of reaching the finishing post, winning the match with nine men down.
Little Stoke made a dreadful start, being reduced to 26 for six after 20 overs and 47 for seven off 31.
They recovered with a stand of 52 for the ninth wicket from number nine Morris, who ended 37 not out, and number 10 Bratt, who scored 23.
They were dismissed in 52 overs, leaving Knypersley a huge 57 in which to score only 125 runs.
They made a good start, openers Jon Cumberbatch and Kim Barnett putting on 54 for the first wicket.
However wickets began to tumble as Knypersley crashed to 78 for six before captain Paul Goodwin and Rob James steadied the ship with a partnership of 34.
Knypersley lost further wickets at 118 and 122 after Goodwin’s dismissal at 112 to leave the last pair at the crease needing three to win.
They won with 125 for nine off 35 overs, and only three batsmen notched up double figures.
Goodwin top scored with 36, followed by Cumberbatch with 27 and Barnett on 15.
Victor Mpitsang took four wickets for 34 off 16 overs, James ended with two for 32 off 14, and Barnett claimed two for 23 off 13.
Neil Dutton picked up one wicket for nine off two overs, and Ross Salmon took three catches.
Knypersley earned 20 points to six for Little Stoke, and are at home to Longton this Saturday.
