Noakes pulls of series of fine saves


Mid Cheshire Youth League, Amber Division.

Under 8s - Frodsham 3 – Vale Juniors Foxes 0.

The Foxes recent run came to an end against a strong Frodsham outfit.

The match started in the worst possible way when a good challenge from Jackson saw the ball fall kindly to Frodsham who scored.

The boys responded well and Tatters crossed a fine ball that was inches behind Turner.

Robertson intercepted the ball well and sprung a Vale attack that saw Jackson play a fine ball that Turner hit goalbound, only for the goalie to make a fine save.

Adlington made a fine save as the match went end to end.

Wright hit a shot from the edge of the area that flew over the bar, and the Frodsham keeper made a great double save from Turner and then Jackson from the rebound.

Adlington made a super save from a free kick.

The start of the second half saw Beech play a through ball to Turner whose shot was inches wide.

Needham made a strong tackle and released the ball to Taters who shot wide.

Vale were really pushing for an equaliser and Manley won the ball before going on a determined run that ended with a shot that went wide.

A lapse in concentration from the lads saw Frodsham score two quick goals to kill off the match as a contest, but the lads continued to try to score a conciliation goal.

Robertson hit a long range effort that was well saved.

Frodsham 2 – Vale Juniors Wolves 5.

The Wolves made a lively start to the first half. They kept it going throughout the half, and it ended 3-1 to the Wolves.

Leese scored 2 brilliant goals, and Pointon scored a cracker from his corner kick.

Frodsham Town managed to pull a goal back, but the Wolves looked strong.

The Wolves played just as well in the second half.

Brindley scored a fantastic goal followed by another by Pointon.

Frodsham Town got another goal back, but the Wolves won the game comfortably 5-2.

Leese made some crucial tackles, and Bowyer and Brookes defended fantastically.

Pritchard and Preston battled hard throughout the match.

Brindley and Pointon worked hard for their team. Darmon made some important tackles, and Noakes made 3 amazing saves.

The whole team worked hard and thoroughly deserved the win.
