Knightley lays down roots with gift

Keira Knightley has received an unusual gift from her new husband - an olive tree.

James Righton apparently paid £3,000 for a 100-year-old olive tree to present to his bride on their big day, The Sun reports.

The Klaxons keyboard player even had the couple's initials and the date of their nuptials carved into the bark.

A source said: "James had it planted in the back garden of her home in France on the day of the wedding.

"He had carved their initials in a heart and showed her in front of everyone.

"She collapsed into fits of giggles, it was very sweet."

The newspaper reported Anna Karenina star Keira's wedding ring once belonged to James's grandmother.

The couple tied-the-knot at a town hall near Keira's mother's estate in the south of France on Saturday.
