Garner: I'm not just Affleck's wife
Jennifer Garner has revealed she doesn't want to become known just for being Ben Affleck's wife.
The 41-year-old actress - who has been with her Daredevil co-star for almost 10 years and has three children with him - admitted to Allure magazine that joining him on red carpets can be a drag as she doesn't want to be arm candy.
Jennifer said: "Sometimes it's a pain because my heels are so high and it would be really nice to have his arm. And he's such a great date! But it can be too much. I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become 'wife of'."
The Juno star will next appear alongside Matthew McConaughey in The Dallas Buyers Club, the Texas electrician Ron Woodroof and his battle for the right to HIV treatment.
As well as acting and directing, Ben often travels for his Eastern Congo Initiative, which brings aid to one of the most war-ravaged areas of the world, and is often rumoured to be interested in running for political office.
Jennifer revealed: "Right now he feels like he can do more good for people politically from outside the system.
"Would I be surprised if one day he did go into politics? No. But not now.
But if he does she added: "I'm along for the ride."
