Homeland trailer teases mistrust
Homeland's new teaser trailer for series three has thrown viewers into disarray over whether they can trust any of the protagonists.
Damian Lewis, Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin, who play lead characters Brody, Carrie and Saul, all appear in the trailer, tag-lined "Who do you trust?"
The 34-second trailer begins with three computer screens on a desk in what looks like an intelligence office.
Soldier-turned-terrorist Brody's suicide video is shown first, with him saying: "People will say that I was turned into a terrorist. Taught to hate my country. I love my country."
Then bipolar CIA agent Carrie appears on the second screen, apparently giving evidence at some kind of hearing, saying: "I don't think he did it. I don't think Brodie knew the bomb was in his car. He's innocent."
And then her mentor Saul appears on the third screen saying: "I won't throw Carrie under the bus. She's unstable. But I'm on her side. I'll do anything."
Finally the message "Who do you trust?" appears.
The series two season finale saw Brody go on the run after he was implicated in a bomb attack which blew up the CIA headquarters.
The first trailer for season three indicated that Brody is back in the Middle East, Carrie is in hospital and Saul was concerned about the situation.
The new series of Homeland begins on Showtime on September 29 and is due to air on Channel 4 shortly afterwards.
