Susanna's Strictly 'a PR campaign'
Susanna Reid displayed a "lack of charm" that left most of her fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestants "bewildered", according to former Bond girl Fiona Fullerton.
Along with actress Natalie Gumede, the BBC Breakfast presenter lost out on the glitterball trophy to model Abbey Clancy in Saturday night's live final.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Fiona, who danced with Strictly veteran Anton Du Beke in the latest series of the BBC show, said Susanna "approached this competition with a PR campaign driven with military precision".
The actress was writing about the fun she had watching the live final in host Tess Daly's dressing room with the other celebrities who were also voted off earlier in the series - adding that they enjoyed "a supermarket trolley full of very expensive champagne".
After expressing admiration and praise for the "exquisite" Sophie Ellis-Bextor, the first to be voted out of the final, and "towering talent" Natalie, Fiona wrote about Susanna, who was partnered with Kevin Clifton from Grimsby.
She wrote: "All those votes from Grimsby couldn't save Susanna Reid, who approached this competition with a PR campaign driven with military precision.
"There was definitely an Obama-style use of social media and a lack of charm that left most of us bewildered.
"Every time she entered Tess's room there were uncomfortable mutterings. It seemed she'd convinced the media she was the outright winner."
Fiona described Abbey as "the most gorgeous, deserving winner of Strictly ever".
