Aaron Paul has revealed he felt like a "big kid playing with big toys" in Need For Speed.
The Breaking Bad star, who plays street racer Tobey Marshall in the big-screen adaptation of the popular racing game, got to do most of his own stunts in the film because director Scott Waugh didn't want to use computer-generated imagery (CGI) or green screen.
"It was a dream come true. We were just big kids playing with big toys," he said, adding: "I can see why stunt men and women do what they do, because it's just so much fun."
The 34-year-old continued: " It is embarrassing how much fun we were having. We shot in seven different states all across the States and we were driving around in these insane cars, (with) incredible racing."
Aaron, best known for his star turn as crystal meth maker Jesse Pinkman in the award-winning US series, had no hesitations about carrying out some of his own tricks.
"Not really," he said. "Let's be honest, I didn't do any of the crazy, crazy stuff."
He continued: "When you see a car jump over four lanes of traffic or driving off a cliff and being caught by a helicopter, that was not me for obvious reasons. But a lot of the sliding, drifting into alleyways and driving backwards, that sort of thing, was me.
"There was no hesitation whatsoever, that was just fun. The majority of the first race at Mt Kisco, I was racing around a Gran Torino. That was all me, and it was just such a blast flying around Georgia downtown in this small, quaint town and leaving skidmarks all over the place."
Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots and Michael Keaton also star in Need For Speed, which opens in cinemas on March 12.
