Oprah Winfrey: Worry days are over

Oprah Winfrey has said she no longer obsesses over her body.

The TV mogul, 60, said she regrets the time she wasted worrying about her shape, E! News reported.

Oprah told her own magazine, O: "I'm not one to get hung up on numbers but if you want to say 60 is the new 40, I'll take that.

"You can be and do whatever you want, thanks to exercise and hair colour. Hair colour: the greatest invention of all time for women."

In her column, the Lee Daniels' The Butler actress wrote: "I've spent too many years resisting, neglecting and negating my body. Wanting Diana Ross' hips instead of my own. I can tell you for sure: Those days are over.

"Every morning when I wake up, before I steep my first cup of chai, I stand in front of the mirror in my pj's and bless my body - starting with my feet and legs, which allow me to keep standing, and ending with my head, which gives me the brainpower to execute my vision of empowering others."

Oprah, who donned a sultry look for the cover of the mag, said that getting older made her feel " free".

But she said that the "hardest part is really recognising the time that you've wasted and the things that you worried about that really didn't matter. You regret the time that was wasted."
