Roberts: I'm happy for Clooney

Julia Roberts has revealed she is overjoyed with George Clooney's engagement.

The Gravity star was reported to have popped the question to London-based barrister Amal Alamuddin, after the 36-year-old was spotted wearing a large ring as she accompanied him to a dinner with Cindy Crawford and Edward Norton at a Californian restaurant. The news was later confirmed by George's proud parents.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on her US talk show, Julia said: "I think it is sublime," adding she has yet to meet the lucky woman.

The August: Osage County actress, who starred opposite George in the Ocean's film trilogy, added: "She is beautiful and smart and he is happy and that's what matters to me."

Julia, who has three children - 10-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, as well as six-year-old Henry - with cameraman Daniel Moder, also revealed her rebellious side when she confessed she sports several tattoos.

"Yes, I have (a) few. Aren't you just rethinking me completely right now?" she told the shocked host.

When asked for further details about her body art, the Oscar-winning actress teased: "Well, some things I can tell you the answer to and some things I'll tell you later. I have all my children's names and my husband's initials."

Julia's appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show will air on US screens tonight (May 7).
