Children In Need raised a new record sum of almost £50 million last year, the BBC has announced.
Viewers saw £31.1 million roll in on the night when the live television spectacular - hosted as ever by Sir Terry Wogan - was staged in November.
But new figures have shown that the cash continued to flow in to bring the grand total for the 2013 appeal to £49.6 million.
Since its launch in 1980, the annual appeal has raised a combined sum of £740 million helping projects for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
Sir Terry, who is also life president of the charity, said: "Each year we're amazed by the generosity of the Great British public, it's just brilliant. 2013 was far from an easy year, but thanks to their on-going support we've been fortunate enough to have another record-breaking total."
The next BBC Children in Need telethon will be staged on November 14.
