Clooney posts Chelsea wedding banns

George Clooney has posted his wedding banns with Amal Alamuddin at Kensington and Chelsea register office.

The Hollywood star announced his engagement to the British human rights lawyer earlier this year, and two weeks ago took steps towards making it official by visiting the London register office to note his intention to marry, according to the Daily Mirror.

Both George and Amal had to pay £35 each before meeting the registrar to sign their papers, which had to be displayed for 16 days before they were allowed to marry.

However, it doesn't look like the actual wedding will take place in Chelsea - the couple noted they would be getting married in Italy and the ceremony is expected to take place at George's £25 million house at Lake Como.

Last month it was revealed Gravity star George had convinced the mayor of his local town in Lake Como to bring in laws fining people swimming within 100 metres of his mansion and banning pedestrians from stopping on the road outside.

George and Amal began dating in September last year and got engaged in April.
