Devito marriage over after 30 years
Danny DeVito has separated from his wife Rhea Perlman after 30 years of marriage.
The 67-year-old Twins star and former Cheers star Rhea, 64, met in 1970 and tied the knot in 1982. They have three children together - Lucy, 29, Grace, 27, and Jacob, 25.
Danny's publicist Stan Rosenfield confirmed the split but offered no further details.
The couple worked together on 70s sitcom Taxi and played Matilda's horrible parents Harry and Zinnia Wormwood in the 1996 film version of Roald Dahl's book Matilda, which Danny directed.
They also set up successful production company Jersey Films together, which counts hit films Pulp Fiction and Erin Brockovich among its credits.
Danny - who spent two months in London this summer starring in The Sunshine Boys on the West End stage - gave no hint of relationship problems during an interview in the UK in April this year.
He joked: "Rhea and I have been together for like a hundred years.
"Seriously, it's getting on for 40 years now. We didn't get married right away, we lived together, and it was back and forth, in and out, on and off."
Asked about the secret to a long-lasting relationship he said: "Love. Love. I mean, really. You know what? Who knows. The secret to success is to try to never figure that out."
