Eight people charged with the murder of a mother and her three children in a house fire are to appear in court today alongside two men accused of murdering a man the night before the blaze.
Kemo Porter, 18, Aaron Webb, 20, Akeem Jeffers, 21, Shaun Carter, 24, Jackson Powell, 20, Nathaniel Mullings, 19, Tristan Richards, 22, and a 17-year-old youth are expected to enter a plea at a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court.
They are each charged with four counts of murder in connection with the fire in Wood Hill, Leicester, on September 13.
Shehnila Taufiq, 47, her daughter Zainab, 19, and sons Bilal, 17, and Jamil, 15, died in the blaze.
Leicestershire Police confirmed they were linking the alleged arson attack and the stabbing of a 20-year-old man the night before.
Hussain Hussain and Abdul Hakim, both 19, will appear at the same hearing charged with the murder of Antoin Akpom.
Mr Akpom, a football coach for Leicester Nirvana FC, died in hospital after he was stabbed in Kent Street, Leicester, on September 12.
A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that we are working on the presumption that both cases are linked."
