A man has been arrested on suspicion of attending a terrorist training camp in Pakistan, police said.
The 26-year-old from Sparkhill in Birmingham was arrested by counter terrorism officers after arriving at Manchester Airport yesterday on a flight from Lahore, West Midlands Police said.
The force said he had been living in Pakistan since 2010 and is suspected of having attended a camp in 2011.
He was questioned by police before being released on bail this evening.
Superintendent Shaun Edwards, of West Midlands' counter-terrorism unit, said: "This was an intelligence led arrest. He was not detained because of any immediate risk to the public.
"The suspect has been released with strict bail conditions while we continue our investigation."
