England dealt captain Cook blow

Alastair Cook will miss the second Royal London one-day international against Sri Lanka at Chester-le-Street, where England will instead by captained by Eoin Morgan.

Cook's tight right groin is too painful for him to take part, and England had already called up the uncapped Alex Hales as batting cover at the top of the order.

The home side lead the five-match series 1-0 after an opening win at the Oval on Thursday.

Michael Carberry came in for Cook but would have to wait for his chance to impress after Morgan chose to bowl first - with showers predicted later.

Sri Lanka made two enforced changes, bringing in Dhammika Prasad and Ashan Priyanjan for injured pair Suranga Lakmal and Thisara Perera.
